The owner of a house on Middlesex Road was woken up at 2:39 a.m. by a crash, and looked outside to see a vehicle against her home as the driver tried to start the car up again, police said.
The driver couldn’t start it, then left the scene, but police found him and gave him a sobriety test — which he passed, police said.
Angry at the way a woman had pulled her vehicle out in front of his own, a 34-year-old man followed her from Stamford into Darien, and when traffic stopped on Hoyt Street, he got out of his truck, reportedly kicked her vehicle and tried to open a door, then got into a “verbal altercation” with her, police said.

Back on Nov. 30, 2017, three men paid for drinks at the bar at Ten Twenty Post restaurant, using fake $50 bills, then used three more at Gofer Ice Cream shop in the same building, police said.
Recently, one of them, previously identified by town police, was found in New York City and later extradited to Connecticut, police said. He was arrested on June 4.

A 34-year-old nurse admitted to stealing Tramadol, an opioid medication for pain, from four elderly residents at Maplewood at Darien for months, starting in January or February, police said.
She said, according to police, that she did it to deal with physical pain she was experiencing.

A woman suffered bruises, a black eye and a concussion after a 39-year-old man she knew assaulted her in January — not the first time he assaulted her — and later he threatened her, according to Darien police.
Police said that soon after they had applied for and received an arrest warrant for the man, the victim called police at 5:30 a.m. to tell them he was on her property. Police went there and took him into custody.
Due to the ongoing rain, Tuesday, Darien High School’s graduation will be held indoors, in the Auditorium, Principal Ellen Dunn announced.

Gregory Baxter Siegner, 63, of Green Cove Springs, Florida and formerly of Mt. Airy, Maryland, passed away on May 11 at Acadia National Park, Maine.
Brady Eldredge, who last February won the fifth-grade essay contest organized by Darien’s Good Wife’s River Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution with his writing on the “Women’s Suffrage Campaign,” has won first place in the Connecticut DAR essay contest.
The Hindley School fifth grader also recently was named winner of the Northeast Division DAR fifth-grade essay contest. Brady is the son of James and Jennifer Eldredge of Darien.
