Darien Summer Nights organizer Baywater Properties announced that it’s teaming up with local businesses for its Friday night concert series, which debuts this Friday (with Bad Dog Buddy taking the stage).

This Friday, Flour Water Salt Bread, of 20 Grove St., will be selling their artesian pizza by the slice during the concert. Doors at the restaurant open at 5 p.m., and the  music starts at 6 sharp, so don’t be late.

Fifteen concerts are scheduled in the series, with the last one on Sept. 27. (It bears repeating: The music’s free; the pizza isn’t.)

More from the announcement:

  • Bad Dog Buddy is a group of local friends from Darien, New Canaan, Westport and Wilton. They met playing together in the adult program at the New Canaan School of Rock and through a shared passion for performing live music formed a band!
  • They cover a wide range of music on many different instruments including a violin, sax, banjo and melodica along with guitar, bass, keys and drums.
  • They perform a few times a year at local bars, events and fundraisers, and yes “Buddy” the dog attends all of their rehearsals and usually gets tangled up in the cords. Join us as we welcome them back.
  • Baywater Properties, Grove Street Plaza, The Corbin District and The Darien Chamber of Commerce encourage residents to come out this summer to Darien Summer Nights at what has become an incredible community gathering for all ages. See you Friday and remember to shop local!
