Harry Glaze of Wilmington passed away peacefully on April 10, 2021, at the age of 88. Born in Spokane, Washington, to Harry Smith Glaze and Augusta W. Glaze, he attended Stanford University, where he met the love of his life, Lynn Ferguson. After changing his major from journalism to chemical engineering, Harry graduated in 1955 and then earned a M.S. from the University of Washington in 1957. Harry and Lynn married that year and lived in Marin County while Harry worked at Chevron before returning to Stanford to obtain his MBA. The family then moved to Darien, in 1967, when Harry took a job at Conoco, later acquired by DuPont.

Matthew Lee Walker died on April 13, 2021 at his apartment in Branford, CT, at the age of 38. Matthew is the son of Rev. Robert and Donna Walker of Darien, and the brother of Brandon Walker of San Clemente, California. Matthew, known by his friends as Matt, was born on March 20, 1983 in Dallas. After living in Dallas for less than two years, the Walker family moved to Darien, in 1984. He graduated from Darien High School in 2001 and then entered Green Mountain College for one year.

She also was predeceased by her parents, Antoinette and Angelo Casolo, and her husband, Frank Anthony Valente. She had a great sense of humor and could always bring a smile to your face. She proved to be a strong willed, determined woman her entire life, raising her five children, but most especially when medical issues clouded and confused her mind.

Jerome “Jerry” Auclair passed away peacefully at home in New Haven on March 11 after a 20-month battle with pancreatic cancer. Jerry was born in 1945 in Springfield, Massachusetts, the second of four children of Alcide and Edna Auclair. He graduated from South Hadley High School in 1963 and from the University of Massachusetts in 1967 with a B.S. in mathematics. Jerry began an illustrious 52-year career in education at Nonnewaug High School, where he taught math, coached baseball, was athletic director, and eventually assistant principal. In 1972 he was awarded an M.S. in Education, and in 1976, at the young age of 30, he became principal of Somers High School, where he served for 11 years before becoming principal of Southington High School in 1987.
