Linda H. Osberg “Lindy” passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Friday, March 19, 2021, after a long, hard-fought battle with Alzheimer’s. She was 78.

Linda Osberg, 78, passed away March 19. A small celebration of her life will take place in the Spring.
Born in Washington, D.C. on Jan. 18, 1943 to the late William Lanier Harper and Virginia Groves Harper, Linda grew up in Shaker Heights, OH, where she graduated from Shaker Heights High School in 1961. She went on to attend Green Mountain College in Poultney, Vermont, receiving an A.A. degree in education and psychology.
During her college years, she met her husband, Glen R. Osberg, and they married on October 17, 1964. After living on a number of military bases throughout the U.S., they moved to Poughkeepsie, New York, in 1968.
It was there that she became a dedicated advocate for the needs of children by volunteering as a pediatric aid at local hospitals and a teacher’s aide in the Poughkeepsie Public School system.
Life takes you down many paths; for Linda, her favorite ones always led to the beach, which is what drew Linda and Glen to the coastal town of Darien, where they called home for 36 years.
A consummate “people person,” Linda thrived by helping others. She was social, relatable and trusting, which allowed her to excel in a career in real estate in both New York and Connecticut. Linda later found her true vocation as a successful recruiter in Connecticut for McIntyre Associates and Fogarty Knapp & Associates.
Linda loved nothing more than to be surrounded by family, friends and laughter. She had the most fun-loving spirit and the biggest heart that was always on display through her warm smile. Linda was known to break the rules a little; she felt happiness was more important than anything and well worth the risk, at times. She rooted for the underdog, saw the good in everyone and lived to make sure tomorrow was better than yesterday. Linda was a fiercely devoted mother and grandmother and was greatly loved by all who knew her.
Linda was predeceased by her husband, Glen, in January 2020. She is survived by her four children: Kaarn Lynch (Tom), Kristin Vrooman (Bobby), Erik Osberg (Sara) and Kinsey Tamberrino (Tommy). She will also be forever remembered and loved by her 13 grandchildren: Haley, Courtney, William, Brett, Kelsey, Boden, Brinley, Van, Barclay, Oakley, Avery, Kylie and Brennan.
A small celebration of her life will take place in the spring. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to the Alzheimer’s Association in memory of Linda Osberg.
