Cheating resulting from test answers being “widely shared” for two exams at Darien High School has led school officials to reschedule parts of the tests for all students who took them.
Principal Ellen Dunn and the English and Social Studies Department chairs announced the move in a message on Friday to parents of 10th grade students.

Darien gymnasts may have placed third in both their meets this week — but with overall scores of 130.9 at Trumbull and 131.5 at Saturday’s home meet, they still emerged victorious.
The team went up against St. Joseph High School and Trumbull High School a week ago Monday. Last Saturday they competed against Fairfield Warde and Fairfield Ludlowe.

New research from the AAA Foundation for Traffic Safety reports that of Washington state drivers involved in fatal crashes, the percentage who tested positive for active THC doubled since that state legalized pot in 2012.
A restaurant and another food-serving establishment in Darien each received a “C” rating, the worst in the town’s A/B/C ratings system in the latest inspection reports, released Thursday by the Darien Health Department.
A police officer saw a vehicle strike a sign in the parking lot of Holmes School then leave the scene on Friday evening, Jan. 24, police said.
He described the car for a police radio alert that resulted in Stamford police finding the car and driver, who was charged with evading responsibility, police said.
Susan Thornton of the Yale Law School will deliver the final lecture of this year’s Darien Community Association 2020 Academic Lecture Series on Global Issues, ”China’s Global Reach,” at 8 p.m., Monday, Feb. 3.

A wallet with $200 and bank cards in it was stolen from a pickup truck parked outside a home on Scout Trail sometime overnight Monday to Tuesday, Jan. 20 to 21.
The theft was one of four cases in which cars were entered in the same overnight period, police said.

The navigation software in a 2018 Mercedes GLA 250, stolen overnight Saturday to Sunday from outside a home on Mystic Lane, was used to figure out where the stolen SUV was — parked in New Haven, it turned out, where police had it towed for safekeeping.
“Linda Ronstadt: The Sound of My Voice,” a “musical biography” documentary about the singer, will be shown from 7 to 8:45 p.m., Friday, Jan. 31 at Darien Library.
After a police officer on patrol saw a 39-year-old Darien woman in an argument with a passenger in the Jeep she was driving, the officer pulled over the vehicle — then noticed indications the woman had been drinking, police said.
When she didn’t successfully complete standard field sobriety tests, she was charged with driving while under the influence, police said.
William Thomas Murphy, Jr., 72, of New Canaan passed away peacefully on January 26, 2020 after a year-long battle with cancer, his loving family by his side.
