Roger Benner Bognar died peacefully on April 9, 2021 in Charleston, South Carolina, after a brief illness, three months after the passing of Barbara, his wife of 67 years. He was 90. Born in Massillion, Ohio, Roger grew up near Pittsburgh. He attended the University of Pittsburgh, where he was a second lieutenant in the ROTC and tuba player for the Pitt Marching Band, receiving a bachelor’s degree in business administration before attending the Harvard Business School for his MBA. Prior to attending Harvard, Roger was drafted for active duty for the Korean War.

Dorothea Elizabeth Manegio of New Milford passed away on Wednesday, April 28, 2021 in Danbury. She was 88. Dottie was born on Jan. 15, 1933 to the late William and Marion Ryan. Dottie received a Bachelor of Arts degree in English from Hunter College in June 1956. While working at New York Bell, Dottie met Frank in their church choir in Yonkers, New York, and they were married on Sept.

Marilyn (Mariotti) Van Sciver a lifelong resident of Darien died peacefully at home with family on Saturday, April 24. She was 86. Born January 1, 1935 in Brooklyn, New York, she was the daughter of the late Louis J. Mariotti and Adele Camisa. Mrs. Van Sciver graduated from Darien High School in 1952. Following graduation, she worked as an assistant town clerk for Darien.

With the deepest sorrow, we announce that Albert Edward Metzger, age 63, of Stamford, our beloved brother, nephew, son, family member, and friend, passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 24, 2021. Those who knew Al, even just a little, lost a shining light in their lives. Al was quirky and beyond special, a person of selfless kindness and love. As a handyman and overall do-gooder, he spent his lifetime helping others. Those closest to Al knew him as a kind and mild-mannered person who always had something to say to make you laugh.

Scott Dansker, a resident of Darien and a high school student at Admiral Farragut Academy, passed away suddenly on Friday, April 23, in St. Petersburg, Florida. He was 16. Scott was a triplet born on July 29, 2004, to Brad and Serina Dansker. From the moment he was born, Scott’s inner joy, magnetic personality, and charm captivated everyone he met.

Eric Cyril Scott, a resident of Darien from 1965 to 1998, passed away on Monday, April 19. He was 97. He was born in the Bronx to George and Georgina (Rivers) Scott. After high school, he enlisted in the Marines as World War II was getting under way. He saw duty in the Pacific, and his older brother, James Howard Scott, a navigator in the 15th Air Force, was killed in action in August 1944.

Anne Schroeder Anderson, 89, of Redding, passed away peacefully on Jan. 24. Anne was born in August 1931 to Katherine and Wade Schroeder in Chicago. She grew up in Oklahoma City, Evansville, Indiana and Wheaton and Hinsdale, Illinois, suburbs of Chicago. She graduated from Wellesley College in Massachusetts in 1953 with a degree in art history.

Margaret Mary Dwyer Dunn passed away peacefully on April 19, 2021. She was 83. Margaret was born on July 27, 1937 in Boston to Francis P. and Ann Loretta Dwyer. She attended the Belmont public schools, Boston College and the Katharine Gibbs School in Boston. She was married to Thomas L. Dunn.

Harry Glaze of Wilmington passed away peacefully on April 10, 2021, at the age of 88. Born in Spokane, Washington, to Harry Smith Glaze and Augusta W. Glaze, he attended Stanford University, where he met the love of his life, Lynn Ferguson. After changing his major from journalism to chemical engineering, Harry graduated in 1955 and then earned a M.S. from the University of Washington in 1957. Harry and Lynn married that year and lived in Marin County while Harry worked at Chevron before returning to Stanford to obtain his MBA. The family then moved to Darien, in 1967, when Harry took a job at Conoco, later acquired by DuPont.

Matthew Lee Walker died on April 13, 2021 at his apartment in Branford, CT, at the age of 38. Matthew is the son of Rev. Robert and Donna Walker of Darien, and the brother of Brandon Walker of San Clemente, California. Matthew, known by his friends as Matt, was born on March 20, 1983 in Dallas. After living in Dallas for less than two years, the Walker family moved to Darien, in 1984. He graduated from Darien High School in 2001 and then entered Green Mountain College for one year.

Louis Paul Sepe of Darien died suddenly on Dec. 17, 2020. He was 88. Born to Vincent Sepe and Laurina Nardone Sepe on April 17, 1932, he was known as “Lou” by friends and neighbors, “Sep” by his wife, Cynthia, and “Gigi” or “Uncle Gigi” by his family. In Millbrook, New York, he was born, grew up, played basketball for and graduated from Millbrook High School.

Michael John Patrick Mullin passed away peacefully on April 3, 2021, in Fort Myers Florida, following a brief battle with cancer. He was 87. A proud Irishman, Michael was born in Pipestone Minnesota, on Aug. 19, 1933, to Clement Mullin and Mary McGinty Mullin, and was preceded in death by his siblings Mary Mullin, Marguerite Anderson, and Maurice Mullin. Mike spent his early years in Minneapolis where he attended St.

Alison Warner Waterman died April 4, 2021 at Westminster Canterbury of the Blue Ridge in Charlottesville, Virginia. She was 101. Born in Hartsdale, New York, to Frances O. Warner and Ralph Finley Warner on May 9, 1918, she grew up in Tokeneke, attended St. Margaret’s School in Tappahannock, Va. and graduated from Marot Junior College in Thompson, Conn.

Nancy Quackenbush Melson, beloved wife, mother of five children, passed away March 24, 2021, in San Diego. Born Adriana Suydam Quackenbush on Dec. 2, 1930 in Darien, she attended Darien schools, the Wood Business School in New York City and was a bookkeeper and worked in real estate. She was married to Richard J. Bounty and they lived in Darien and Redding with their five children. Several years after Richard’s death, she married Bob Melson.

Ramsey Ellsworth Joslin passed away peacefully on March 17, 2021, surrounded by family, after a long battle with Alzheimer’s disease. He was 94 years old. He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Sally (Sutphin) Joslin. Ramsey was born in 1927 in Cleveland to Carl and Augusta (Ramsey) Joslin. The family moved to Farmington when Ramsey was 10 years old, which is where he and his younger brother, Brooks, spent the remainder of their childhood — and where he met his future wife, Sally.
