With the deepest sorrow, we announce that Albert Edward Metzger, age 63, of Stamford, our beloved brother, nephew, son, family member, and friend, passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 24, 2021.
Those who knew Al, even just a little, lost a shining light in their lives.
Al was quirky and beyond special, a person of selfless kindness and love. As a handyman and overall do-gooder, he spent his lifetime helping others. Those closest to Al knew him as a kind and mild-mannered person who always had something to say to make you laugh.
He was known for his entertaining stories, which he loved to repeat often. He enjoyed skiing and was an avid reader of current events. Growing up in Darien, he attended Darien schools and was a graduate of Darien High School.
Al joins his parents, Philip and Barbara Young Metzger, in heaven and is survived by his brother, Bruce Metzger; aunt, Mary Sue Christoffers; stepmother, Zoya Metzger; several cousins and dear friends Rich, Alice, and Dawn Pascale.
A private service will be held for family and friends.
