Gertrude J. (Gerrie) Graham, 80, of Norwalk passed away Tuesday, April 2 at the Brightview Assisted Living Center in Norwalk. Mrs. Graham was born Oct. 11, 1938 in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania. She is the daughter of William and Josephine (Kaleta) Engle. She married Milton Russell Graham on June 13, 1959 at Munn Avenue Presbyterian Church in East Orange, New York.

Manuel Joseph Perez, the beloved husband of Janet Williams Shaw, passed away on Sunday, March 24, 2019 at the age of 79. He was born on Jan. 15, 1940 in Newburgh, New York, the son of Manuel and Madeline (Paolini) Perez. As a child, Manny loved books, reading, listening to stories on the radio and watching movies, which laid the foundation for his life’s work. On a Naval ROTC scholarship, Manny graduated from the University of Rochester in 1962 with a degree in clinical psychology.

Patricia Moll Pohlmann, 83, died peacefully, surrounded by family members, at Providence Point in Pittsburgh on March 30, 2019. Born in Chicago on Jan. 30, 1936, the daughter of the late Eugene and Helen Moll, she was raised in Indianapolis, Indiana. Growing up, Pat was an outstanding swimmer in major competitions across the country including the U.S. Olympic Trials. She graduated from Indiana University in 1958 and was a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma sorority.

It is with sorrow and sympathy that the Cavett family shares the peaceful passing of Donald Turpin Cavett on Thursday, March 28. Donald, 85 years old, was a longtime resident and employee of the Town of Darien. Don was born on May 12, 1933 in Lynn, Massachusetts to the late Edwin and Cornelia Cavett, and he spent his childhood years growing up in Marblehead, Massachusetts. After graduating from St. John’s Prep. of Danvers, Massachusetts, in 1951, he went on to receive his bachelor of science in Commerce from the University of Notre Dame, in 1955, and later pursued an MBA at Boston College.

Beatrice “Bea” Watrous, 88, a lifelong resident of Stamford, passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 14 at Cassena Care of Stamford. She was born in Stamford on March 16, 1930 to the late Frank and Grace Jarvis Clark. Bea attended Stamford High School. She then went on to work at W.T. Grants where she met the love of her life, Bill Watrous. They were married in 1950 and began their life together on Cove Island.

On Saturday, March 9, Andrea Argenio of Darien passed away at age 26 after a 10-year battle with an incurable rare cancer. Andrea was born in Milan on April 21, 1992, to Michelangelo (Milo) Argenio and Mandy Cawthorn Argenio. He was the much-loved younger brother of Alessandro, and grandson of Robert and Susan Cawthorn and the late Michele and Angela Argenio. Andrea most recently lived in Brooklyn, NY with his beloved life partner, Olivia Kasmin. Despite being frequently under treatment, Andrea graduated from Brown University in 2015 with a bachelor of science degree in applied math and economics.

Elizabeth Lape Hulsey, 85, of Darien passed away on March 10 at Waveny Care Center, after a long illness. Elizabeth, also known as “Betsy,” was born on Oct. 14, 1933 in Columbus, Ohio to the late Howard and Byrnece Lape. She was also step-daughter to the late Honorable Joseph P. Kinneary. She was predeceased by her brother, Howard B. Lape, Jr, as well as her husband Raymond A Hulsey.

Hank Satterthwaite died very peacefully, surrounded by loving family on Sunday March 10th at the Connecticut Hospice Care Center in Branford, after a four-year battle with cancer, during which time he was positive and hopeful and living life to the fullest. He was 77 years old. She was a lifelong Stamford resident, employed by Sears & Roebuck, where she had a successful career for 40 years. After retiring, she continued to work later in life as a sampler at Palmers Market in Darien. Ginny had a love of life and always lived it to the fullest.

Barbara Jane “BJ” Sillars passed into our Lord God’s glorious heaven on Sunday, March, 3, at the Davis Community in Wilmington, North Carolina. BJ was born on May 27, 1931 and raised in Dayton, Ohio. BJ attended Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois, where she majored in theatre and met Robert (Bob), her husband of almost 60 years. BJ and Bob raised their children in Glenview, Illinois and Darien. They retired to Wilmington in 1996 for easier winters, beautiful beaches, and a wonderful community.
