To the editor:
At Home In Darien would like to thank the many volunteers who participated in this fall’s senior leaf raking program.
Students in the St. Thomas More Youth Group of Darien, Church of Latter Day Saints Youth Darien Ward, Darien YMCA Adventure Guides and Princesses, the St. Luke’s of Darien’s Confirmands [those going through confirmation], Darien United Methodist Church and the Community Council from Darien High School all spent 400 hours raking, bagging and hauling numerous piles of leaves from the homes of 23 Darien seniors.
Our heartfelt gratitude goes out to these groups and individuals for their kindness and service to the community.
Our seniors were thrilled to have help with their leaf raking and enjoyed meeting the numerous volunteers who came to their aid. The volunteers were equally delighted to help out fellow community members!
If you know a senior who needs assistance with leaf raking (or snow shoveling of a public sidewalk) or if you would like to volunteer to help, please call At Home In Darien at 203.655.2227 or email jennifer@athomeindarien.org.
