The Darien Community Association Women’s Luncheons will feature “How a Book is Published and Marketed,” for their luncheon on Tuesday, Dec. 3 at at the DCA. Plus Barrett Bookstore, which is presenting the event, will be available to give helpful guidance for book groups and ideas for Christmas gifts. — an announcement from the Darien Community Association

Barrett Bookstore will be bringing us Mackenzie Bronk, a sales rep from Hachette Book Group (HBG), to talk about the book industry. Hachette is considered one of the big-six publishing companies, along with Macmillan, Penguin Random House, HarperCollins, Scholastic, and Simon & Schuster.

Barrett Bookstore on Saturday hosts author Chase Reynolds Ewald, who will talk about and sign copies of her new book, Cabin Style, “an up-close look at some of the most exclusive architect-designed cabins, ranch houses, and lodges located in popular resort areas.” She won’t be at the bookstore, however, but at Neat Darien coffee shop at 20 Grove St. (Grove Street Plaza). Historian Evan Thomas will discuss his new biography of former Supreme Court Justice Sandra Day O’Connor at a breakfast event Monday, April 22 at Norwalk Community College. Tickets ($65 plus a $5.59 fee) are available online up to this coming Wednesday, April 3). Seating is limited. Barrett Bookstore is a co-sponsor of the event.
