While leaf raking and snow shoveling can be good exercise, they are often tiring and sometimes hazardous chores for seniors.

At Home In Darien is pleased to offer our annual fall leaf raking and winter snow shoveling program.

— an announcement from At Home In Darien

This program matches At Home In Darien volunteers with senior residents who are in need of assistance. Leaf raking, show shoveling, and our other volunteer services can help Darien seniors continue to live in their homes and our community with one less thing to worry about.

If you are a senior (or know of a senior) who is interested in taking advantage of our leaf raking and snow shoveling services, please contact the At Home In Darien office and complete an application before Oct. 12.

Please note our volunteers can only shovel public sidewalks.

“Despite the continued warm summer weather, we’re getting ready for when the leaves and snow begin to fall,” remarked Gina Blum, At Home In Darien executive director.

“The demand for assistance was significant last year, so we are working to recruit new volunteers. We also ask that seniors plan ahead and contact us as soon as possible with their requests.”

If you are interested in volunteering to help with the leaf raking and snow shoveling program (or any of At Home In Darien’s programs), please contact the office for more information about volunteering.
