Anyone dropping off or picking up summer school students at Darien High School is being asked by the school district to do so in designated locations because of summer construction on campus.

Here’s a letter sent out by the school district:

Dear Parents/Guardians,

Our high school campus will be undergoing some construction this summer in order to expand the cafeteria and complete several other projects.  If you are visiting our campus in order to drop off/pick up students for Summer School programs or to participate in other activities, please follow the traffic flow as detailed in the attached map.

The campus will see the most amount of activity between 8 and 9 a.m. and 12 noon and 1 p.m. If you are dropping off/picking up students during those hours we ask that you do so in front of the auditorium or in the loop by the gym entrance.

Please do not stop to drop off/pick up in front of the main entrance or library entrance.   The area that is typically used for buses during the school year will become temporary parking, in addition to the regular parking spots, if you would like to walk your child into the building.

We will have cones, signs, and staff members to direct traffic according to the planned routes and to maintain safety for all.

We hope you have a great summer!

Thank you,
Darien Public Schools
