Greenwood Avenue man struck his father in the face, the elderly man told police, according to a police report. Police arrested the son on Tuesday, Aug. 15.

Police gave this account of what happened, including accusations not proven in court:

A nutritionist working with the elderly man told police he had seen an argument between his client and the man’s adult son.

(Police gave the son’s age as 41, saying he was born in 1975. The Connecticut Judicial Branch website says his birth year is 1957, which would make him 60. Other information online indicates the man is 60.)

Police went to the father’s house, where the man told an officer about the argument, in which the father was struck on the face. He had no visible injuries and said he didn’t need any medical treatment.

Police charged the son with disorderly conduct, threatening and interfering with an emergency phone call. Police gave out no information about the interfering or threatening charges. The man posted a $10,000 bond and was scheduled to appear in state Superior Court in Stamford the next morning. His next court date is Sept. 19.
