A 31-year-old Darien man pushed a pregnant woman to the floor at home and shook her head by the hair in an argument that turned physical, according to Darien police, who arrested him. At some point (police didn’t say when, but the incident was reported to police at 9:40 a.m. on Saturday) the man was away from home and the victim told him not to come home because he was so intoxicated. She then locked the front door to keep him out.

Police found a woman lying on the roadway when they were called to the scene of a reported assault late on Halloween night, and soon afterward they arrested a man she recently had been dating, charging him with the assault and with taking her vehicle. The woman said she didn’t want any medical care, police said. Darien police described what happened with this account, including accusations not proven in court:

Sometime around 11 p.m. on Tuesday, Halloween night, the man confronted the woman at the business where they both were working. He demanded a ride home, and she refused to give him one, the woman told police. Police didn’t identify the business or its location, but it was close enough to the Post Road that the woman’s vehicle was parked there.

Police: Man, 19, Charged with Disorderly Conduct After Scuffle at Home

A 19-year-old man got into a scuffle at his home with another resident there after an argument about his employment and whether or not he could use a vehicle belonging to someone else in the house to work as an Uber driver, Darien police said. The scuffle resulted in the man’s arrest on a charge of disorderly conduct, police said. Darien police described what happened with this account, including accusations not proven in court (the description of what happened before police arrived is from the person with whom the teen was in the dispute):

The argument started Wednesday, Aug. 30, became violent by the time police were called at 12:12 p.m.

The victim told police that she forbid the teenager from using one of her vehicles for the job. At one point during the argument, the teen pushed the victim in an attempt to get the vehicle’s keys.

Teen Arrested After Another Domestic Dispute, This Time With His Mother

A 19-year-old Darien man was arrested again in another domestic incident at his home on Allen O’Neill Drive, Darien police said. This time, his mother was also arrested. Last fall, he and his sister had been charged after the two got into a dispute over a minor matter, and the sister called police. This time, the man and his mother were each charged after the mother called police. The mother, 41, told police that Luis Sanchez had been forcibly entering bedrooms and stealing things from her and another family member who lives in the home.

A Greenwood Avenue man struck his father in the face, the elderly man told police, according to a police report. Police arrested the son on Tuesday, Aug. 15. Police gave this account of what happened, including accusations not proven in court:

A nutritionist working with the elderly man told police he had seen an argument between his client and the man’s adult son. (Police gave the son’s age as 41, saying he was born in 1975.

A woman on Allen O’Neill Drive told police that a Stamford man, 31, in a phone conversation with her threatened to shoot her, and a second person overheard the threat, police said. Police described the incident and investigation with this account (including accusations not proven in court):

At about 10:16 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 6, the woman contacted police to tell them about the phone call she had received from the man, who has a Stamford address but who is either a boyfriend or related to her. Police indicated the matter is a domestic violence situation, which can occurs only between people close to each other or living with each other. Police don’t say what the specific type of relationship is between the victim and accused person).

Police: Man, 26, Smashes Sister’s TV in Domestic Dispute

A 26-year-old Darien man in an argument with his sister deliberately broke the television set of his sister and texted her a photo of the broken set, police said. Darien police described the incident with this account, including accusations not proven in court:

On Friday, June 30, the brother and sister, who both live at a home on Allen O’Neill Drive, communicated through text messages as they argued about who would drive their mother from work. The man was at home, his sister wasn’t. The sister later showed police a text message from her brother that said,“Looks like you’re getting a new TV then,” with a picture of the television with a broken screen. The sister went to police and showed them the text and photo.

Police: Man, 51, Charged with Disorderly Conduct After Smashing TV, Other Items at Home

After a Darien man, 51, admitted that he’d smashed a television screen after a heated argument in his home, he was charged with disorderly conduct and arranged to leave the house, police said. Darien police described the incident with this additional information, including accusations not proven in court:

Police were called to the home at 9:45 p.m. on Saturday, April 22. Another family member told police about the man punching the television screen in the living room and showed police other items around the house that the man had broken in previous incidents. The man was given a summons to appear in court the following Monday morning.

Police: Man, 25, Threatened Darien Woman, Violated No-Contact Order

A 25-year-old ex-boyfriend of a Darien woman repeatedly called her and on one occasion threatened to kill her, according to Darien police, who arrested him last week on a warrant after he was arrested by police in Yonkers, N.Y.

The man was arrested by police on March 20 on charges of threatening and, six times, violating a no-contact protective order issued by a court. Darien police described the incident with this account, including accusations not proven in court:

Antonio Lucaine, whose last known address was in Yonkers, dated the woman for about five years, and at one point the couple were engaged and lived together, the woman said. She told police he was verbally and physically abusive throughout the relationship, and in New Rochelle, N.Y., he physically assaulter her in 2014, which led to an order of protection from a New York state judge.The woman moved to Connecticut after breaking off the relationship in February 2016. The protective order required him not to contact the woman, but she told Darien police last August that she had received at least six calls from him, including one on Aug. 12.

Man, 42, Charged with Choking Woman in Domestic Violence Case

A 42-year-old Darien man choked a woman during a struggle over a phone call the woman was trying to make at their home in the Avalon Darien apartment complex, police said. Darien police described what happened with this account (including accusations not proven in court):

The woman, 40, told police that she had become upset at about 7 a.m., Monday, March 6 when the man wouldn’t let her make a phone call to a juvenile. When she went to a bathroom and tried to call anyway, the man came in, took the phone from her hand, put it in his pocket, and a struggle began. During the struggle and argument, the man put his forearm over her neck and, at least twice, pushed the woman up against a wall. The man wrapped his arms around her neck and began to push on her head and neck.

Police: Darien Man, 21, Charged in Domestic Violence Incidents

A 21-year-old Darien man was arrested Feb. 11 on disorderly conduct charges after he broke dishes, threw the contents of a refrigerator on the floor and was seen carrying a baseball bat, although he didn’t threaten anyone with it, Darien police said. Police provided this additional information (including accusations not proven in court):

The incidents occurred days before, on Thursday and Friday, Feb. 9 and 10 at the home where the man lives with family members. Picture frames were also broken and eggs were among the food thrown.
