Police: Intoxicated Man Charged with Assault After Tussling with Pregnant Woman

A 31-year-old Darien man pushed a pregnant woman to the floor at home and shook her head by the hair in an argument that turned physical, according to Darien police, who arrested him. Police described what happened with this account, based on statements from the victim. The police account does not include statements from the arrested man. It includes accusations not proven in court:

At some point (police didn’t say when, but the incident was reported to police at 9:40 a.m. on Saturday) the man was away from home and the victim told him not to come home because he was so intoxicated. She then locked the front door to keep him out.

Police: Man Uses Key to Enter Darien Woman’s Home While She’s Gone, Gets Arrested

A 35-year-old man with a key to a Darien woman’s home let himself in while she was away, even though she had a protective order against him, said police, who arrested him. Darien police described what happened with this account, including accusations not proven in court:

Sean Mobley, 35, of Norwalk, has a standing criminal protective order concerning the Darien woman. (The police announcement did not say just what the restrictions are in the order, but police said Mobley violated it.)

Sometime before Sunday, Dec. 3, while the woman was away with her daughter, Mobley used a key to let himself in the home. The woman had arranged for a neighbor to watch the home and take care of the woman’s pet, and that neighbor was there when Mobley entered the place.

Darien Police: Two Domestic Disturbances Result in Arrests

Two unrelated domestic disturbances recently resulted in charges for town residents. Darien police gave out these details:

A 56-year-old Darien man was charged with violating a protective order when he knocked several items off of a counter in anger when the victim refused to talk to him about selling the house. The victim also told police that the man had done several other minor things in order to cause annoyance. The man was arrested and later released on a $10,000 bond. Based on the investigation, officers placed McGovern under arrest for violation of the protective order.

Police: Man, 19, Charged with Disorderly Conduct After Scuffle at Home

A 19-year-old man got into a scuffle at his home with another resident there after an argument about his employment and whether or not he could use a vehicle belonging to someone else in the house to work as an Uber driver, Darien police said. The scuffle resulted in the man’s arrest on a charge of disorderly conduct, police said. Darien police described what happened with this account, including accusations not proven in court (the description of what happened before police arrived is from the person with whom the teen was in the dispute):

The argument started Wednesday, Aug. 30, became violent by the time police were called at 12:12 p.m.

The victim told police that she forbid the teenager from using one of her vehicles for the job. At one point during the argument, the teen pushed the victim in an attempt to get the vehicle’s keys.

Police: Darien Man Struck His Elderly Father

A Greenwood Avenue man struck his father in the face, the elderly man told police, according to a police report. Police arrested the son on Tuesday, Aug. 15. Police gave this account of what happened, including accusations not proven in court:

A nutritionist working with the elderly man told police he had seen an argument between his client and the man’s adult son. (Police gave the son’s age as 41, saying he was born in 1975.

A Darien police officer first spotted an ex-boyfriend chasing his former girlfriend off of the Exit 11 ramp from I-95 South onto the Post Road. The 19-year-old man was later charged with disorderly conduct and reckless driving. Police gave this account of the matter, including accusations not proven in court:

Just before 8 p.m., Saturday, a police officer saw a black SUV following a white one off of the exit ramp and turn left onto the Post Road. As they continued west, the officer followed, watching both vehicles being driven erratically, weaving in and out of traffic. The officer briefly lost site of the vehicles because of traffic congestion, but saw them again as they both turned right onto Renshaw Road, rapidly speeding up.

Police: Darien Firefighter Breaks Into Ex-Girlfriend’s Home, Looks Through Her iPad, Computer

When a Darien woman arrived home at 11:30 a.m. on Monday, May 15, she found her ex-boyfriend, a local firefighter, had broken in and had tried to look through personal information on her iPad and computer, apparently to see if she was dating anyone, police said. When she confronted Eric Barret, 42, of 1078 R Post Road, Darien, he was holding her iPad as he stood in her living room, according to police. The victim told police that when she asked Barret, a firefighter in the all-volunteer Noroton Heights Fire Department, how he got into her home, he said he broke through the back door using a firefighter’s tool. He later told police he used a “shove key.” The FirehooksUnlimited.com website describes kits for firefighters containing items described as “keys” and “shove knifes.”

Police: Darien Man, 51, Arrested Second Time in Domestic Incident, Violated Protective Order

After a Darien man had been issued a court order not to contact a person involved with the man’s previous domestic violence arrest, the Darien man went back to the home and refused to leave, police said. He was arrested again. Darien police gave this description of what happened in this account, which includes accusations not proven in court:

At 8:13 p.m. on Wednesday, May 3, police were dispatched to a Christie Hill Road home, where they were told Peter Wagner, 51, was at the residence, contrary to the court order, and refused to leave. Police charged him with violating a protective order and first-degree stalking, both felonies. He was held overnight in lieu of paying a bond of $75,000 and appeared in state Superior Court in Stamford the next day.

Police: Man, 51, Charged with Disorderly Conduct After Smashing TV, Other Items at Home

After a Darien man, 51, admitted that he’d smashed a television screen after a heated argument in his home, he was charged with disorderly conduct and arranged to leave the house, police said. Darien police described the incident with this additional information, including accusations not proven in court:

Police were called to the home at 9:45 p.m. on Saturday, April 22. Another family member told police about the man punching the television screen in the living room and showed police other items around the house that the man had broken in previous incidents. The man was given a summons to appear in court the following Monday morning.

Woman, 19, Charged with Violating Protective Order

A 19-year-old woman told Darien police that she thought a protective order prohibiting her from being at the home of the victim didn’t apply when the victim moved to a new residence, according to police. It does, and the woman was arrested. At 2:18 p.m. on Monday, April 10, police were called to the home in the 100 block of Noroton Avenue, where the 19-year-old, a Stamford woman, told them she had been invited to the home and arrived at about 1:45 p.m., then a dispute developed, police said. Police quoted the woman saying the resident had “thrown her out of the house.” The Stamford woman was charged with violating the protective order and initially held her on $10,000 bond.

Darien Man, 21, Charged with Violating Protective Order, Disorderly Conduct at Home

A 21-year-old man previously arrested in a domestic dispute was arrested again last week after pushing a member of his household to get that person out of the way in a hallway, Darien police said. The other person wasn’t injured or bruised, but the push violated a protective order, police said. After the Monday incident was reported to police on Darien police applied for and received an arrest warrant by  Thursday, April 6, and that day arrested the man, Joseph Pulvirenti Jr. of McCrae Lane. Police gave this additional information, including accusations not proven in court:

Last Tuesday, the victim reported the incident to police. The victim said the incident occurred the previous day.
