A window of an SUV was smashed and a tote bag with cash in it was stolen Sunday evening in the middle of a restaurant’s parking lot on the Post Road.

The victim told police that she parked her 2017 Toyota Sienna in the lot of Bertucci’s Restaurant at 54 Post Road at about 6 p.m., had dinner and returned at about 8:49 p.m.

She found the front, passenger-side window had been smashed and the tote bag on the front seat was gone. The glove box was opened, as well.

In the tote bag: a passport, house keys, various bank cards, an iPad mini, a check book and $300 in Canadian currency worth about $234 in U.S. dollars (with the current exchange rate of $1 Canadian dollar to 78 U.S. cents).

No other vehicles in the lot were broken into. No recordings from security camera videos were available.
