Here’s what’s open, closed and changed for Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s birthday, commemorated on Monday, Jan. 18:
Transportation
- Metro-North: “On Martin Luther King, Jr. Day (Monday, January 18) Metro-North will operate a Saturday Schedule with additional AM & PM trains. Grand Central North will be closed. See Train Times/Schedules. Extra trains are also included in the current printed timetable.”
- CT Transit: “Commuter Connection will operate on a REDUCED service schedule. Reduced service schedules are published in the Commuter Connection timetables and online. All other routes (including I-BUS) will operate on a regular weekday schedule.
- Norwalk Transit District will have no service on Monday.

- Connecticut Department of Motor Vehicle offices close early at 12:30 p.m. AAA offices remain open on Friday and Saturday for regular hours and can process driver’s license renewals.
