Vehicles parked in two different driveways on Hollow Tree Ridge Road were entered overnight between Nov. 6 and 7. Some items were taken from one of them.

Both vehicles had been left unlocked. Police gave these descriptions of the incidents:

At 261 Hollow Tree Road, a resident parked a 2014 GMC Yukon at 9 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 6 and returned to the vehicle at 11 a.m. the next day to find the driver’s side front door wide open and the center console open and rifled through.

Stolen from the sport utility vehicle were a pair of Maui Jim sunglasses valued at $219, about $5 in loose change and two small toiletry bags.

At 290 Hollow Tree Ridge Road, a driver had parked a 2014 Chevrolet Tahoe at about 5:30 p.m. that Sunday and the next morning saw the driver’s side front door open and the center console open. The driver didn’t notice anything missing.

Two other vehicles were parked in the driveway but appeared untouched.

The two driveways are located about a tenth of a mile apart from each other (about three houses away), with 290 High Ridge Road just south of the intersection of Haskell Lane and Hollow Tree Ridge Road and 261 just south of the intersection of Hollow Tree and Deepwood Lane. (Here’s a map.)

Police asked neighbors if they’d seen or heard anything unusual, but no one had.
