Two Teens Charged with Burglarizing House on Holmes Court

Darien police have charged two teenagers with burglarizing a house on Holmes Court last April and stealing cash and electronic items from it.

Here’s the Darien police announcement (police accusations are not proof of guilt):

The Darien Police Department investigated a residential burglary on Holmes Court on April 20, 2016.  It was determined that suspects entered the residence through an unlocked door and removed various electronics and cash.

Due to the close proximity to the city border, detectives notified the Stamford Police Property Crime Unit to make them aware of the incident.

The following day the Stamford detectives contacted Darien Police and advised that they had two burglary suspects in custody that matched the description of the Holmes Court burglary suspects.

Darien Police Detectives then interviewed 18 year old Deandre Parsons of 7 Lewelyn St. Stamford.  The second party that had been arrested was a male juvenile from Stamford.

It was determined through investigation that both Parsons and the juvenile were responsible for the Darien burglary the previous day. At the conclusion of the interview Darien detectives along with Stamford police, executed a search warrant at the juvenile’s residence and recovered evidence connecting him to various property crimes.

Since April 22, 2016 Parsons has been incarcerated at Bridgeport Correctional Center, and the male juvenile has been incarcerated at the Connecticut Juvenile Training School in Middletown.

On May 26, 2016, Parsons was transported to Stamford Superior Court where Darien detectives executed a warrant for his arrest.  On June 14, 2016 Darien Detectives responded to the Connecticut Juvenile Training School and arrested and took custody of the male juvenile.  Both subjects were charged with:

• Burglary 3^rd Degree
• Conspiracy To Burglary 3^rd Degree
• Larceny 3^rd Degree

Both subjects have extensive criminal histories.  Parsons remains in custody at Bridgeport Correctional Center on a $75,000 court-set bond for the Darien charges.  The juvenile was remanded to custody and is now incarcerated at the Bridgeport Juvenile Detention Center for the Darien charges.

Here’s part of what Darienite.com reported on April 26 about the burglary:

At about 2:30 p.m., residents returned to the house but didn’t immediately see that anything was missing until about 3 p.m., when they called police. There was no forced entry into the home.

Missing: an Xbox One video game console, several video games, an iPad tablet computer, two Toshiba laptop computers and about $300 missing from a wallet in a nightstand drawer. Police found nothing else in the neighborhood seemed to be disturbed.

But they had already had a clue that may lead to the case being solved: Earlier in the day, at about 11 a.m., police received a report of two suspicious males, both black, on bicycles and with backpacks on the street not far from the burglarized house. They were wearing hoodies to cover their faces. It isn’t clear from the police statement what was suspicious about the two.
