Darien police have charged two teenagers with burglarizing a house on Holmes Court last April and stealing cash and electronic items from it. Here’s the Darien police announcement (police accusations are not proof of guilt):

The Darien Police Department investigated a residential burglary on Holmes Court on April 20, 2016.  It was determined that suspects entered the residence through an unlocked door and removed various electronics and cash. Due to the close proximity to the city border, detectives notified the Stamford Police Property Crime Unit to make them aware of the incident. The following day the Stamford detectives contacted Darien Police and advised that they had two burglary suspects in custody that matched the description of the Holmes Court burglary suspects. Darien Police Detectives then interviewed 18 year old Deandre Parsons of 7 Lewelyn St.

When house on Blueberry Lane was entered sometime between 12:30 p.m. on Friday, May 6 and about noon on Monday, May 9, the burglar or burglars ignored computers and jewelry and instead took away a sterling silver tea set, police said. Darien police gave this account of the case:

The house, which belonged to a deceased person, had been the home of an elderly couple. The husband had died, and for some time the wife was cared for around the clock by home health aides until her death. A caretaker and an executor of the estate visited the house on Monday to find that every room seemed to have been entered, with drawers pulled out and closets open. A safe was left open in one bedroom.
