Three houses in the Tokeneke section of town were burglarized over the Independence Day weekend, Police Chief Duane Lovello recently told the Darien Police Commission.
In only one case was entry into a home forced — a window was smashed, Lovello said. Nothing is known to have been taken in that burglary.
“We do have a suspect we’re working on,” Lovello said at the Wednesday afternoon meeting of the Police Commission. “We think he may be hitting the area — throughout the lower Fairfield County area.”
All three burglaries appeared to have happened at night, he said.
Lovello’s description of the incidents lacked a lot of the details provided in the department’s press briefings — for instance, he didn’t give the street names days or what was taken. (No information on the burglaries was given at last Tuesday’s briefing; the next briefing is scheduled for Monday afternoon.)
