Lane Closures on the Merritt Parkway in Westport at Various Times Through Mid-May

Expect some lanes to be closed on the Merritt Parkway in Westport north (and east) of Exit 42 in Westport during some days and some evenings each week, from now until May 16, state officials announced. Here’s the exact description of the lane closures and when the lane closures are planned to take place, the Connecticut Department of Transportation said in an April 1 news release. (The lane closures for the project began that day.):

—”Daytime northbound right lane 6 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday for up to six weeks.” —”Nightly northbound and southbound lane closures between the hours of 7 and 6 a.m. Monday through Thursday, 9 p.m. and 6 a.m. on Fridays, and 8 p.m. to 9 a.m. on Saturdays.” —”Intermittent closure of entrance and exit ramps at Exits 41 and 42 after 12 midnight as needed.”

Lane Closures on Rt 7 in Norwalk Among Area Highway Projects Constricting Traffic This Week

Expect alternating lane closures, whether you’re going north or south, on the “Super 7” U.S. Route 7 highway between Exits 1 and 3 in Norwalk from Monday through Friday this week. The lane closures, scheduled to take place between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. are for bridge inspection or repair work on the highway bridges, the Connecticut Department of Transportation announced. Other highway work in the area this coming week includes tree cutting and clearing on the Merritt Parkway in Greenwich and Stamford (through March 8), and similar cutting and clearing along the northbound-traffic side of Interstate 95 in Westport and Fairfield. The Westport-Fairfield work will take place between Exits 18 (the Sherwood Island Connector in Westport) and 19 (Center Street in Fairfield) between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. on Tuesday, ConnDOT said in a separate announcement.

Expect Weeks of Continued Lane Closures on Merritt in Greenwich, Stamford for Tree Cutting

A Merritt Parkway tree-removal project in Stamford and Greenwich, previously expected to end on Wednesday, Feb. 13, will instead continue through Friday, March 8, the state Department of Transportation announced. The work area stretches from Exit 29 (Old Mill Road in Greenwich) to Exit 33 (Den Road) and takes place from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on the northbound-traffic side of the parkway and from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on the southbound-traffic side, according to the announcement, which was released Thursday. This Saturday, Feb. 16, only, work will be done from 6 a.m. to 1:30 pm.

Several Lane Closures on I-95 Near Darien This Week

Several stretches of Interstate 95 near Darien will have lane closures this week for bridge maintenance and inspections, as well as tree cutting, the Connecticut Department of Transportation has announced. The tree cutting will continue through Feb. 13 on Interstate 95 in Stamford and Greenwich, according to a separate announcement from the department.
