A Merritt Parkway tree-removal project in Stamford and Greenwich, previously expected to end on Wednesday, Feb. 13, will instead continue through Friday, March 8, the state Department of Transportation announced.
The work area stretches from Exit 29 (Old Mill Road in Greenwich) to Exit 33 (Den Road) and takes place from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on the northbound-traffic side of the parkway and from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on the southbound-traffic side, according to the announcement, which was released Thursday.

This Saturday, Feb. 16, only, work will be done from 6 a.m. to 1:30 pm.
Workers are clearing around signs, as well as cutting dead trees and high limbs.
Drivers should be aware that this schedule may change due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions.
