Lane Closures on Highways in Stamford, Greenwich on Monday, Tuesday
|
Know before you go: Bridge inspection work will close a lanes on the Merritt Parkway in Stamford on Monday and on Interstate 95 in Greenwich on Tuesday. The Connecticut Department of Transportation announced the lane closures on Friday, giving these details:
On Monday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., travelers on the Merritt Parkway driving on the southbound-traffic side will find the right lane closed between Exits 31 and 34 in Stamford, and on the northbound-traffic side in the same area at the same time. On Tuesday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. lanes will be closed on Interstate 95 in Greenwich between Exit 3 and the New York state border on the southbound-traffic side and from 9 a.m. to noon on the northbound-traffic side. These are in addition to overnight road work conducted on area highways that starts anywhere from 7 p.m to 10 p.m. and doesn’t end until just before 6 a.m. The department doesn’t issue a similar report for that work, but it will post very temporary announcements on this Web page. You can also look at the department’s Twitter account (see below; we also have it on the Home page in the right-hand column) and its traffic-camera feeds for Interstate 95 (Stamford area here; Bridgeport area here).
