An announcement from the Darien Police Department:
Recently Darien Police officers recovered a stolen scooter as a result of a motor vehicle stop.  The scooter had never been reported stolen but through the officer’s investigation, it was determined that it was taken from the Darien train station approximately two years prior.

Scooters are being stolen at an alarming rate in our area and in the surrounding communities.  Many thefts are from train station parking lots and other commercial areas. A thief can steal your scooter in less than 20 seconds!  Alarmingly, many owners do not lock or secure their scooters thereby presenting opportunistic theft. However, as with any vehicle, it’s always important to take the time to properly lock your scooter to protect against theft and prevent this crime from reoccurring.
