This “New Year-New Look-New You for LinkedIn!” event on March 22, sponsored by the Darien Chamber of Commerce gives you an all-in-one package to spruce you up, get your picture taken for LinkedIn and get some professional advice about your profile there. It all takes place from 8 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. on March 22 at Darien Sport Shop — but register in advance to have your picture taken by a professional photographer. Chamber of Commerce Presents Checks to The Depot, Darien Arts Center

The Darien Chamber of Commerce presented checks to this year’s recipients of the 11th Annual Wine Tasting & Charity Auction, The Depot and Darien Arts Center. The Depot is a non-profit organization providing high school children with a drug and alcohol free environment. The donated money will be used to go toward the costs of a new roof that is needed and programs.

The Darien Arts Center is a non-profit organization dedicated to educating, promoting and providing the means of artistic expression in dance, music, visual arts and theatre. The DAC will be using the donated money where it is needed for their programs.

The award-winning specialty seafood store and caterer just opened a new location in downtown Darien at 1015 Post Road. Fjord Fish Market is owned locally by Jim Thistle. Specializing in responsibly-sourced seafood, Fjord brings a unique mission and philosophy to the local seafood marketplace with its emphasis on traceability, transparency, and strict standards for aquaculture. ____________

Wine, Gourmet Food & Auction at Chamber of Commerce Event Oct 22

The Darien Chamber of Commerce invites all to its 11th Annual Wine Tasting and Charity Auction on Oct. 22 from 6 to 9 p.m. at BMW of Darien, 140 Ledge Road. The fundraiser will benefit the Darien Arts Center, The Depot Youth Center and the Darien Chamber Charitable Foundation, and will feature a selection of fine wines from WinePort of Darien, along with a variety of gourmet foods from area restaurants and caterers. A charity auction will feature many special items. Darien Rowayton Bank is the “elite sponsor” for this event, as well as throughout the year for the Chamber. The events’ proceeds will benefit three non-profits in Darien:

The Darien Arts Center, celebrating its 40th year in 2015, provides visual and performing arts programs and events for the community, offering educational programs in dance, visual arts, music and theatre, live theatre performances by DAC Stage and special events.

The Darien Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce the 11th Annual Wine & Food Tasting & Charity Auction on Thursday, Oct. 22, at BMW of Darien, 140 Ledge Road, from 6 to 9 p.m.

The Darien Chamber welcomes all in the greater Darien community to a fun filled evening which will feature a selection of fine wines sponsored by WinePort-Darien along with a fine selection of gourmet foods from Amanda Smith Caterers, Atria of Darien, Fjord Fish Market, Meatball & Co., Olivette, Palmer’s Fine Foods & Catering, The Goose American Bistro, and Whole Foods Market. A Charity Auction will feature many special items with Tom Geary, Owner of Geary Gallery, as the “Auctioneer”. The silent auction items will include:

A Lifetime Experience—“Be a Top Gun Co-pilot” in a fighter plane—includes 5 dogfights and DVD of your day;
A Super Bowl Party for 50 with a 184” HD Movie Screen with Surround Sound in DAC Weatherstone Studio;
