The Darien Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce the 11th Annual Wine & Food Tasting & Charity Auction on Thursday, Oct. 22, at BMW of Darien, 140 Ledge Road, from 6 to 9 p.m.
The Darien Chamber welcomes all in the greater Darien community to a fun filled evening which will feature a selection of fine wines sponsored by WinePort-Darien along with a fine selection of gourmet foods from Amanda Smith Caterers, Atria of Darien, Fjord Fish Market, Meatball & Co., Olivette, Palmer’s Fine Foods & Catering, The Goose American Bistro, and Whole Foods Market.
A Charity Auction will feature many special items with Tom Geary, Owner of Geary Gallery, as the “Auctioneer”.
The silent auction items will include:
- A Lifetime Experience—“Be a Top Gun Co-pilot” in a fighter plane—includes 5 dogfights and DVD of your day;
- A Super Bowl Party for 50 with a 184” HD Movie Screen with Surround Sound in DAC Weatherstone Studio;
- A Charleston, SC Getaway for two;
- A Chef prepared Dinner Party for 8 and served in your home by Amanda Smith Caterers;
- A day of fishing at the private Preston Mountain Club;
- Jet Blue Tickets for two;
- “Rare & impossible-to-buy bottles of wine”
The auction will also feature fun and fabulous items for every member of your family or your friends. This is a great time to look for unusual gift items for the holidays!
The Darien Chamber Fundraiser will benefit The Depot youth center, Darien Arts Center and Darien Chamber Charitable Foundation.
The Depot Teen Center is a nonprofit organization providing youth with a drug- and alcohol-free environment. The money raised will go toward the new roof that is needed. The Darien Arts Center recently celebrated its 40 anniversary and monies raised will go towards programs. The Darien Chamber Charitable Foundation supports two to three community-based college scholarships and the Holiday Lighting on the Post Road.

“This wine and food tasting event is the perfect example of bringing our local business and retail community, restaurateurs, Darien nonprofit organizations and area residents together to raise money to benefit our community”, said Susan Cator, president of the chamber.
Advance tickets can be purchased online at the Darien Chamber for $50. The price at the door is $65.
