Darien police received a report from the Chase Bank in Noroton Heights that a woman offered suspicious identification in an attempt to cash a check at 5:30 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 31.

Police gave this account of what happened:

The woman gave a teller at the bank a New York state driver’s license for identification. The teller, however, didn’t think the woman in front of her seemed to be the same age as the date of birth given on the license.

The woman was described as white, with dark hair.

When challenged, the woman became angry, told the teller that she thought she was being treated rudely, took the driver’s license back and left the bank, located at 165 Noroton Ave. She never presented the check at all.

The teller didn’t feel that the appearance of the female matched the date of birth on the identification. When challenged, the female told the teller they were rude, took the identification back, and left the bank. The check was never presented.
