A 57-year-old Darien woman, apparently intoxicated, struck, then kicked a family member, causing that person to fall; the woman then threw a house phone and cell phone at the victim, police said.

Darien police described what happened with this account, including accusations not proven in court:

Sometime before 12:28 a.m. on Sunday, Sept. 23, the woman arrived at the home, intoxicated, and was told by the victim that she should leave the house, the victim told police.

The woman then started striking, then kicking the victim, who fell and then decided to call police, the victim said. In response, the woman threw the phones at the victim.

When officers arrived and were still outside the house, they could hear arguing inside.

The woman said the victim was trying to get her to leave the home, pushing her and throwing her purse at her. She admitted that she threw the phones at the victim.

Officers, who smelled alcohol on the woman’s breath, described the woman as being confused about the course of events. The woman said she had been drinking. She declined medical attention.

The woman was issued a misdemeanor summons charging her with disorderly conduct and was told to be in state Superior Court in Stamford the next day.
