A 47-year-old Darien woman struck a member of her household in the face with her hand at about 10:30 p.m., Sunday, July 8. She was issued a misdemeanor summons to appear in state Superior Court in Stamford the next day.
The complainant said the woman had become loud during the argument. The woman said the complainant had been pointing during an argument, and she stood up and struck the complainant to stop that.
The complainant was unsure whether the woman had struck with an open hand or closed fist. The woman admitted that she had struck the complainant and said it was with an open hand.
Police charged the woman with breach of peace. A misdemeanor summons is a ticket, and no arrest or bond is involved.
