Police: Ripping Off a Necklace and Overturning Furniture Gets Man, 47, Misdemeanor Charge

A 47-year-old Darien man ripped the necklace off a victim’s neck and flip several pieces of furniture during an angry argument at home on Friday night, Darien police said. Police provided these further details about what happened, including accusations not proven in court:

Police were called to a home on Overbrook Lane at 11:39 p.m., where a complainant said that during an argument between the man and the victim, he ripped off the necklace and overturned the furniture. When police spoke with the victim, she agreed with that account. Officers also spoke with the man, who initially denied that the altercation even happened, but he later admitted to the necklace ripping and furniture overturning. He was issued a misdemeanor summons charging him with disorderly conduct, a misdemeanor, and telling him to appear Monday, Sept.

The woman told police that before she went away for the weekend, she had told a family member to clean up the home. When the woman returned on Monday. Aug. 6, she found the house hadn’t been cleaned up and, in fact, looked worse than when she had left.

Police: Darien Woman Served Up a Misdemeanor Summons After Hitting Fellow Household Member With a Spoon

A 62-year-old resident of Allen O’Neil Drive received a misdemeanor ticket after neighbors complained to police about noise coming from her apartment and she admitted to hitting a member of her household repeatedly with a spoon, police said. Darien police gave this account of the incident, including accusations not proven in court:

Police were called to the home at 6:54 a.m. on Tuesday, July 17 (or possibly Thursday, July 19 — see the last paragraph of this article) when a neighbor complained about hearing what police described as a “commotion” in the residence. One neighbor told police of hearing the victim say “Stop hitting me, you always hit me and then say you’re sorry.” Another person gave a similar account of what was heard. The victim said an argument had taken place about someone being at work on time. The victim initially denied that anything violent had happened, but later said that the woman had hit the victim on the victim’s hand with a wooden spoon.

Police: Darien Woman, 47, Charged After Striking Family Member

A 47-year-old Darien woman struck a member of her household in the face with her hand at about 10:30 p.m., Sunday, July 8. She was issued a misdemeanor summons to appear in state Superior Court in Stamford the next day. The complainant said the woman had become loud during the argument. The woman said the complainant had been pointing during an argument, and she stood up and struck the complainant to stop that. The complainant was unsure whether the woman had struck with an open hand or closed fist.
