On Tuesday Aug. 1, Cristian Fiscella, 25, of Orange was sworn in as a Darien police officer. Officer Fiscella comes to the Darien Police Department after serving almost two years with the New Haven Police Department.

Officer Fiscella grew up in Orange and graduated from Amity High School in 2010. Officer Fiscella then enlisted in the United States Army.

Officer Fiscella served in the Army from 2010 to 2016. Officer Fiscella was deployed to Afghanistan from 2012 to 2013 where he served as a military police officer. As part of Officer Fiscella’s assignment in Afghanistan, his platoon was in charge of training Afghan police forces.

Cristian Fiscella congratulated by Police Chief Ray Osborn after Fiscella was sworn in as a Darien police officer.

Upon being discharged from the Army, Officer Fiscella was hired by the New Haven Police Department until his transfer to the Darien Police Department.

Officer Fiscella followed in the footsteps of his father, Detective Anthony Fiscella, of the Greenwich Police Department.
