In addition to paving the Post Road through Darien, workers making improvements on state roadways will cause traffic restrictions at these places in upcoming days, according to the state Department of Transportation:

In Greenwich on the Merritt Parkway there will be alternating right and left lane closures on both the northbound- and southbound-traffic sides of the two-lane parkway between Exits 29 and 31 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on both Tuesday and Wednesday, Oct. 3 and 4, the DOT announced.

In another project, drivers traveling northbound on the Merritt Parkway and using entrance and exit ramps for Exit 41 and 42 in Westport and Fairfield can expect off-and-on nighttime ramp closures after 12 midnight, starting Monday,  Oct. 2 through Friday of the following week (Oct. 13).

Drivers “are advised to follow signed detours that will direct traffic to an alternate exit or entrance ramp to their destination,” according to a DOT news release.

Ramp closures and detours will occur after 12AM and will effect only one ramp at a time.
