Lane Closures on I-95 in Stamford, Darien and on Merritt Parkway, Stamford to New Canaan

Highway lane closures are scheduled this week on Interstate 95 in Stamford and Darien on Wednesday and on a stretch of the Merritt Parkway from Stamford to New Canaan on Thursday, the Connecticut Department of Transportation has announced. Interstate 95

There will be lane closures in Stamford and Darien, between Exits 6 and 10, on Wednesday, Dec. 27, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.,  on both the northbound- and southbound-traffic sides of I-95. Merritt Parkway

On Thursday, Dec. 28, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., lanes will be closed on both the northbound- and southbound-traffic sides of the Merritt Parkway between Exit 34 (Long Ridge Road in Stamford) and Exit 37 (South Avenue, or Route 124, which turns into Mansfield Avenue in Darien).

Year-Long Project on Merritt Parkway in Greenwich to Close Lanes Sometimes on Weeknights, Weekends

For almost the next year, a stretch of the Merritt Parkway in Greenwich will have a new concrete barrier and construction vehicles entering and leaving at any time. There will be some lane closures overnight on the northbound-traffic side of the highway, between 9 p.m. and 6 a.m. The project isn’t scheduled to be completed until Nov. 27, 2018. The purpose of the project is to install a new drainage pipe under the Merritt to increase the flow capacity of Horseneck Brook to the Putnam Lake reservoir. The construction will take place between Interchanges 29 and 31.

Starting this Saturday morning, Oct. 7 here’s where state Department of Transportation work on highways will restrict traffic near Darien:
This Saturday, Oct. 7
Merritt Parkway in Norwalk and Westport

Surveying will take place on each side of the parkway from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m., Saturday:

— On the southbound-traffic side of the parkway surveying will close lanes between Exit 41 (Route 33, Wilton Road) and Exit 38 (Route 123, New Canaan Ave.). — On the northbound-traffic side of the highway, surveying will close lanes between Exit 36 (Route 106, Old Stamford Road) and Exit 40A (Route 719, Main Ave.). Here’s Where State Construction Will Restrict Traffic Flow Near Darien

In addition to paving the Post Road through Darien, workers making improvements on state roadways will cause traffic restrictions at these places in upcoming days, according to the state Department of Transportation:

In Greenwich on the Merritt Parkway there will be alternating right and left lane closures on both the northbound- and southbound-traffic sides of the two-lane parkway between Exits 29 and 31 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on both Tuesday and Wednesday, Oct. 3 and 4, the DOT announced. In another project, drivers traveling northbound on the Merritt Parkway and using entrance and exit ramps for Exit 41 and 42 in Westport and Fairfield can expect off-and-on nighttime ramp closures after 12 midnight, starting Monday,  Oct. 2 through Friday of the following week (Oct. 13).

Nighttime Work on Merritt Parkway in Norwalk to Close Lanes Thru Thursday, July 27

A bridge maintenance project on a stretch of the Merritt Parkway in Norwalk will close lanes in both directions from now through Thursday, July 27, the state Department of Transportation has announced. The work will be done between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m. between Exits 39A and 40A. Drivers can expect lane closures on both the northbound traffic and southbound traffic sides of the highway, also known as Route 15. The work started Thursday night (July 20). According to the department’s announcement:
Traffic control personnel and signing patterns will be utilized to guide motorists through the work zone.

Lane Closures Coming Saturday Thru Wednesday in & Near Darien

In and around Darien this weekend, April 22 to 24 and on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, April 24 to 26, lanes or restrictions will be on these roads, the Connecticut Department of Transportation has announced. The department’s latest announcement is on top of road closures in downtown Stamford this weekend and Merritt Parkway ramp closures on Wednesday. Saturday & Sunday: Merritt Pkwy North in Greenwich, Stamford
From 6 a.m. to 2 p.m., Saturday, a surveying operation will result in lane closures between Exit 31 (North Street, near the New York state border) and Exit 33 (Den Road, Stamford). “Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions,” the department said in an announcement. In other words, don’t hold them to that schedule of days or times.

Merritt Pkwy Project to Close Ramps Wednesday, April 26, Greenwich to New Canaan

The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing that construction will be resuming on Route 15 (Merritt Parkway) in Stamford and New Canaan from the Greenwich town line just north of Exit 31, North Street, to the vicinity of Exit 37, Route 124 (South Avenue) beginning on Monday, April 17, 2017. 

The project consists of 6.5 miles of roadway resurfacing, safety improvements, and landscaping enhancements.  The work also includes rehabilitation of five historic bridges over Route 15. ____________

This Week’s Highway Lane Closures Start Monday on Merritt Pkwy in New Canaan, Stamford

Lane closures on parts of the Merritt Parkway and Interstate 95 will take place this week in Stamford, New Canaan and Norwalk, the state Department of Transportation has announced. The closures, which generally mean slower traffic, are for bridge inspection work, according to the ConnDOT announcement. Here’s when and where the lane closures will take place in the area around Darien:
Both MONDAY and TUESDAY, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
New Canaan — Merritt Parkway between Exits 37 and 38, northbound-traffic and southbound-traffic, right- and left-lane closures

Stamford — Merritt Parkway between Exits 35 and 36, northbound-traffic and southbound-traffic, right-and left-lane closures
