A train disabled in the Park Avenue Tunnel at 7:30 a.m. was what delayed commuter trains coming into Grand Central Terminal Tuesday morning, Metro-North announced.

Here’s the entire announcement, emailed at 1:36 p.m., Tuesday:

The 15- to 30-minute delays you experienced during this morning’s rush hour were caused by a non-revenue train that became disabled in the Park Avenue Tunnel at approximately 7:30 a.m.

This took one of four tracks out of service, creating train congestion going into and coming out of Grand Central Terminal.

Mechanics arrived on the scene and the train was cleared from the track at approximately 8:30 a.m.

We regret any inconvenience you may have experienced as a result of this incident.
