Elizabeth Esposito obit 5-16-16

The funeral for Elizabeth Sposito will take place Thursday, May 19.

Lee was born in New York City in 1926. She was the daughter of Michael and Angelina Boscaino. She attended New York City schools and graduated from the prestigious Julia Richmond High School in Manhattan. At the age of 14 she met the love of her life, George Sposito.

When George returned from proudly serving in the US Navy during WWII they married and set up residence on the upper east side of Manhattan where they started their family. Shortly thereafter they relocated to Darien to pursue business opportunities.

Lee started her career as a hairdresser in 1963 and worked in and around Darien until she retired at the age of 87. She was active in the Darien community, volunteering for the Noroton Heights Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary. She also volunteered her services as a hairdresser assisting women who were unable to leave their homes.

Lee had boundless energy. She enjoyed exercise classes, cooking, sewing, and gardening and was an avid reader. But her true passion was her family. She will always be remembered for her selfless devotion to all those who knew her. She was a loving wife, mother, sister, friend and an extraordinary grandmother. She will be sorely missed.
