When an Overbrook Lane resident checked his mailbox at about 6 p.m. last Wednesday, he found a large white envelope addressed to his daughter. It had been opened and was empty.
The envelope had held replacement shoelaces valued at $10, he told police.
Whoever stole the shoelaces would have had roughly a day to do it, if the mailbox was where they were taken from. The man checked the mailbox at 6 p.m. on July 4th, a holiday, so the previous mail delivery would (normally) have been the day before.
