A 15-year-old Darien boy who punched a UPS driver, 37, as the man was delivering items in the front of Holmes School has been charged after police got approval for an arrest warrant.

The boy was charged recently with second-degree breach of peace and third-degree assault in connection with the March 10 incident. The warrants were served last week, and he was scheduled to appear in juvenile court in Stamford.

Police previously described the incident in which they said the UPS driver passed the boy and another boy at Hollow Tree Ridge Road and Hanson Road, where the two boys yelled profanities at him.

Soon afterward, when he had parked his truck, the 15-year-old approached him and began arguing with him, then punched him.
