Barbara Louise Corry, 90, passed peacefully into Heaven on Monday, Nov. 6, 2017 in Seminole, Fl. She was born Feb. 2, 1927, in Chicago, the daughter of Charles and Eleanor Swift.
After a childhood in Chicago, Barbara left farm life in Elburn, Ill., to attend the American Academy of Dramatic Arts in New York City, where she met her photographer husband, Christopher Corry.
Together they raised nine children, moving from New York City to Darien, and then to Seminole. Nothing was more important to Barbara than faith in Jesus Christ, studying His Word, and sharing what it means with others.
She also loved quiet times in libraries, walks on the Gulf beaches, and classic movies. While she was well known as a mother of seven sons and two daughters, Barbara will also be remembered for her stewardship, faithfulness, compassion, unconditional love, and ever-present, sweet smile.
