Bankwell’s new branch in downtown Darien will be at 1065 Post Road, in part of the space where Panera Bread used to be located.

The branch at 1065 Post Road is one of three Bankwell branches opening the same day; the other two are in Westport and Stamford, and they join nine other branches the New Canaan-based business already has, Bankwell CEO Chris Gruseke said in a Friday announcement.

The bank will celebrate the three grand openings from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., with special offers, food, games and giveaways at each new location.

“Bankwell’s team has been preparing for this special weekend for many months,” Gruseke said. “We are excited to bring our unique brand of customer service and community involvement to our new neighbors. We view our expansion as a wonderful opportunity to further our reputation as Connecticut’s preeminent community bank.”

Bankwell describes itself as a community bank that provides a high level of banking and lending services to businesses and residents throughout Connecticut. The bank was recently named No. 1 in customer service in Fairfield County at the Banking Choice Awards.

The other two new branch locations are at 100 Post Road East in Westport and 1095 High Ridge Road in Stamford.
