Bankwell Grand Opening

Bankwell is opening its Darien branch on Saturday, June 9 in part of the space formerly occupied by Panera Bread downtown, the business has announced. The branch at 1065 Post Road is one of three Bankwell branches opening the same day; the other two are in Westport and Stamford, and they join nine other branches the New Canaan-based business already has, Bankwell CEO Chris Gruseke said in a Friday announcement. The bank will celebrate the three grand openings from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., with special offers, food, games and giveaways at each new location. “Bankwell’s team has been preparing for this special weekend for many months,” Gruseke said. “We are excited to bring our unique brand of customer service and community involvement to our new neighbors.
