At Home In Darien held its annual meeting at the Darien Library on Dec. 8, 2015. The open to the public meeting was attended by more than 50 people, including members, public and private sector community leaders, and the media.

Newly elected board members are John Bartlett, Janet Sargent, Tamsin Sickinger, and Robin Woods. All four will serve three year terms.

At Home In Darien also elected Annie McGuire as its President, Annie Burleigh, William Ball and Peter Eder as Vice Presidents, Peter Carnes as Treasurer, Diane Barston as Secretary and Kaye Barker for Governance.

In addition to welcoming new board members, McGuire, thanked retiring Board members Charlie England, Karen Goersch, Nancy Herling, Hester Smith, Amy Squyres, and Cathy Sullivan.

Executive Director Gina Blum provided a report on the organizations’ accomplishments and goals. Blum remarked, “We are so grateful for the time and commitment our outgoing board members contributed to At Home In Darien.

Additionally, we look forward to having our new board members work with us to achieve our goals of providing increased services to Darien Seniors in the coming year.”

The keynote speaker was Marie Allen, Executive Director of the Southwestern CT Agency on Aging, whose presentation focused on the trends, tribulations and triumphs of an aging Connecticut population.
