Alexander C. Aliapoulios, 91, died peacefully on Feb. 6, 2017 at Maplewood in Newtown with his loving wife of 68 years, Constance (Connie), by his side.
Born in Manchester, N.H. on Oct. 6, 1925, he was a graduate of Saint Anselm’s College and received a Master’s Degree from Springfield University.A longtime resident of Norwalk, Alec had a career as a respected and well-loved science and biology teacher at Darien Public Schools and King School. He loved big band music and was an enthusiastic saxophone player.
He and Connie retired to Lauderdale by the Sea, Fl. and Hampton Beach, N.H. 30 years ago where they enjoyed the beach life and a lively social scene.

He is deeply missed by his family, a variety of friends in Connecticut, New Hampshire and Florida and by the residents and attentive staff at Maplewood.
He was predeceased by his two sons: Peter of Redding and Charles (Chuck) of Norwalk. He is survived by his daughter Cathy (Ronald) Kraut of Manhattan; daughter-in-law Vickie of Redding; granddaughters Shari (Daniel) Wright of Newtown and Kristina (Benjamin) Mulhall of Litchfield; grandson Christopher of Berlin, Conn.; and seven great-grandchildren whose frequent energetic presence illuminated his and Connie’s lives.
