Robin Blanche Nagot, 50, a former resident of Norwalk passed peacefully on Feb. 16, after a courageous battle with multiple health issues at Norwalk Hospital. Born Oct. 21, 1967, She lived in Newtown with her mother, Lesley Nagot, and her brother, Christian Nagot, who were her caregivers. Robin worked at Lanphier Day Spa in Darien for many years.

She was the beloved wife of Douglas Fetchin for 23 years. Born in San Juan, Puerto Rico, she was a daughter of Norma Aymerich and the late Andres Arroyo both of San Juan.

Susan Ott Faulkner, 88, longtime resident of Darien and wife of the late John Charles Faulkner, 3rd, peacefully passed away on Feb. 21 at Ashlar Village, Wallingford. Born to Robert J. and Ruth Kaiser Ott, she grew up in Cincinnati and graduated from the Western College for Women. In 1952 she moved to Keene, N.H., met and married Jack, and moved to Darien in 1958 where they raised their family. Susan was a passionate gardener, active community member, and enthusiastic lover of music.

Born in 1928, Dolores was raised in Darien as the middle child of the five children of Leon and Elizabeth Deran. Dolores attended Darien High School (class of 1946) and worked in her father’s photography business.

Ninfa R. Trehubenko, age 99, beloved wife of the late Michael Trehubenko, passed away peacefully on Feb. 19, at Autumn Lake Health Care in Norwalk. Mrs. Trehubenko was born on July 19, 1917 and was a daughter to the late Augusto and Priscilda Colombano. She was a professional baker and owned the Darien Bake Shop and Delite Bakery in Stamford along with her late husband. She is survived by her loving daughter, Jeannie Gelineau of Indiantown, Fl.; a step-daughter, Barbara Costanzo, and her husband August and their children and grandchildren; grandchildren, Janice Kern and her husband Jerome of Wilton and Jay Telesco of Norwalk; great-grandchildren, Matthew Kern, Dylan and Tyler Telesco, as well as many nieces and nephews.

John Ross Hamilton, 92, a resident of Darien, passed away Feb. 15, 2017 after a short illness in Bennington, Vt. Born Oct. 3, 1924 in Winchendon, Mass., John was the youngest child of May Davina Ross Hamilton and The Reverend Rollo Albert Hamilton. An active member of Boy Scout Troop One in Flushing, N.Y., founded in 1910 by Daniel Beard and the Rev. Hamilton, John earned the rank of Eagle Scout and attended college with the support of an Eagle Scout Scholarship.

Marilyn M. Roper, a resident of Darien since 1964, passed peacefully from death to life on Feb. 15. She is now united in heaven with her husband of 35 years, Leslie Harvey Roper of Stamford and Darien. Marilyn was born in Stamford on June 22, 1924, the only daughter of the late Romer John Myers of Pound Ridge, N.Y. and Mary Carpenter Myers of White Plains, N.Y. Marilyn served her country as a chief petty officer in the U.S. Marine Corps during WW II. Marilyn met her future husband while she and her girlfriend were driving on West Avenue in Darien.

Merritt W. Fineout, 75, died on Feb. 6 unexpectedly at Blake Memorial Hospital in Bradenton, Fl. Merritt was born on Sept. 14, 1941 in White Plains, N.Y., grew up in Darien and graduated with a B.A. in business from Babson College.  He then moved to Missouri where he raised a family and founded a successful import business, MeraVic, Inc.

After retirement in 1994, Merritt moved to Anna Maria Island in Florida with his loving wife Karen Day Fineout.

Born in Manchester, N.H. on Oct. 6, 1925, he was a graduate of Saint Anselm’s College and received a Master’s Degree from Springfield University.A longtime resident of Norwalk, Alec had a career as a respected and well-loved science and biology teacher at Darien Public Schools and King School. He loved big band music and was an enthusiastic saxophone player.

Florence A. (Papallo) Sestito, 89, a longtime resident of Darien, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, Feb. 7. She was born in Meriden on Oct. 10, 1927 to the late Joseph and Rose Saverine Papallo. Florence was a graduate of Darien High School, Class of 1945, and was employed at the Shepard Insurance Agency in Stamford until raising her family.
