Yolanda Caldwell Zangrillo, 89, passed away on Dec. 31, 2015 at her home in Darien after a brief illness. She was surrounded by her family.

Born on November 25, 1926, Mrs. Zangrillo was born in Canada to the late Gordon and Wanda Caldwell. She was predeceased by her husband of 60 years, Stephen Frank Zangrillo, who passed away on July 8, and her sister Barbara.
Mrs. Zangrillo and her husband raised four children together, and she was very active in the community. She was a charter member of the Country Club of Darien, a member at the Metropolitan Club in New York, Silver Spring Country Club in Ridgefield, and the Mid Ocean Club in Bermuda. She was an accomplished athlete, having won several tennis, platform tennis, and golf tournaments at the Country Club of Darien.

Mrs. Zangrillo was also a member of the Daughters of the British Empire charity organization, which she volunteered with frequently throughout her life. She also volunteered with the Children’s Aid Society and the Darien Community Association.
She is survived by her son, Stephen Jr. and his wife Pam, her son Anthony and his wife Gina, her daughters Stephanie and Gina; her six grandchildren, Stephen III and his wife Danielle, Gregory Reilly, Nicholas Neville, Douglas Reilly, Samantha Neville, Allison Reilly, and her great granddaughter, Lilliana.
