Atria Darien will be showing the work of Kim Lagana during the month of September and host an opening reception welcoming the public on Thursday, Sept. 6.
Kim is a native of Norwalk. Retiring from teaching World Language in the Norwalk public school system for 35 years, he decided to go back to his interest in art.
Being self-taught, he went through numerous periods of error and frustration. It’s all part of the process.

He draws much of his inspiration from nature’s infinite variety of color and forms. Kim started painting in acrylics, branching off into watercolor and pastels but he also likes to experiment with mixed media and collage.
His work has been exhibited in several galleries in Fairfield and New Haven counties.
“I paint to please myself,” he said. “If someone else enjoys it, I feel thrilled and blessed.”
Atria Darien cordially invites the public to an art show opening and wine reception from 5 to 7 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 6, 2018 at the Gratia Gillespie Art Gallery.
