A 33-year-old Darien woman was charged after she called police about a fight at home and police saw scratch marks and cuts on her husband.
Darien police described the matter with this account (including accusations not proven in court):
The couple had been arguing on the evening of Wednesday, June 22, when the husband went into his office. The wife followed him in and began unplugging her computer, which she didn’t want him to use.
The couple yelled at each other and argued. The husband told police his wife had been drinking and had become more aggressive.
At some point, the woman scratched her husband’s neck and slapped him several times with her open hand. She later left the room and returned, throwing an empty wine glass in his direction. It hit the floor, but when it broke it cut his lower leg. Police saw the cuts.
The woman called police, but they charged her and not her husband. She was charged with disorderly conduct and third-degree assault, both misdemeanors, and was told to appear the next morning in state Superior Court in Stamford.
