While the UPS Store in the Goodwives Shopping Center was closed overnight from Wednesday to Thursday, Sept. 5 to 6, a thief entered the store, according to a video reviewed by Darien police.
Police gave this account of the incident:
The thief, described only as a person “who appears to be a white male with glasses,” entered the store from the back door, pried open three computers and removed the hard drives. The man also took $600 in cash from the cash registers.
Then the thief turned off the power to the cameras, which is when the video surveillance record ends.
When a store employee arrived to open the store, on arrival he found the back door was unlocked. Normally, the door is secured.
The police investigation continues.
