A man who attended the Juilliard Preparatory Division and plays the piano for pleasure, will give a talk Wednesday to the Darien Men’s Association about appreciating music. “Music is all about understanding how differing emotions are captured and exemplified,” said the speaker, George Ubogy, a retired physician. “The performer’s interpretation, the physics of musical sounds and the neurobiology of hearing are a part of enjoying music.”
Ubogy will play excerpts from Schubert, Wagner, Rossini and Brahms to illustrate his presentation. His talk will start at 10:45 a.m., Wednesday, Sept. 20.
