Police: Darien Window Cleaner in Fatal Fall From Ladder

The owner of Darien Window Cleaning Co., Steven Tarnowsky, 67, succumbed to injuries he received in a fatal fall at about 2 p.m. last Wednesday while cleaning the windows of a commercial building at 1950 Post Road in downtown Noroton, police said. Darien police believe the fall was as the result of an unfortunate accident, the department said in a news release, which also said:
Police responded to an alleyway by the building after receiving a report of a male falling from a ladder. On arrival, officers determined that the victim was unresponsive and had received life-threatening injuries. They immediately began to give Tarnowsky medical treatment until a Darien EMS-Post 53 ambulance crew arrived. He was taken to Stamford Hospital, where he was pronounced dead shortly afterward.
